Tips for adjusting the frequency of ultrasonic welding machines

Ultrasonic welding machines are equipment that uses high-frequency mechanical vibration energy to process thermoplastics. Frequency adjustment is one of the key links to ensure welding quality and normal operation of the equipment. Here are some tips and precautions for adjusting the frequency of ultrasonic welding machines:

1. Lock the mold and the horn

Before adjusting the frequency, first make sure that the connection between the ultrasonic mold and the horn has been locked. This is to avoid errors caused by looseness during the adjustment process. In addition, during tuning, do not let the welding head contact other objects to avoid affecting the measurement results.

2. Turn on the power and check the load meter

Turn on the power of the ultrasonic welding machine and observe whether the power indicator light turns on. Next, find the ultrasonic test switch on the machine and press it, while paying attention to the load meter. If the pointer of the load meter exceeds 30% of the range or the value is greater than 2 amperes, the time to press the test switch should be very short to prevent damage to the machine.

3. Adjust the tuning inductor

While observing the load meter, rotate the tuning inductor left and right until the value on the meter is displayed at the minimum position. Typically, this value should be between 5% and 15%, or between 300 mA and 900 mA. This step is to ensure that the resonance between the generator and the transducer system is optimal.

4. Dealing with frequency differences

For machines with a card position, the adjustment range of the tuning inductance is usually only 360 degrees. If the frequency of the welding head is greatly different, it may be necessary to readjust it. At this time, it may be necessary to open the cover and disassemble the fixture to adjust the frequency more accurately.

5. Automatic frequency scanning (for new equipment)

For newer ultrasonic welding machines, the system may automatically scan and identify the frequency of the ultrasonic mold. This means that in some cases, you do not need to manually adjust the frequency knob, the system will automatically complete this process.

6. Choose the right frequency

Choose the right frequency according to the nature and thickness of the welding material. Generally speaking, when welding thinner materials, you should choose a higher frequency; when welding thicker materials, you should choose a lower frequency. This is because the frequency directly affects the transmission of vibration energy and the heating effect of the material.

7. Regular calibration

In order to ensure the accuracy of frequency adjustment, it is recommended to calibrate the ultrasonic welding machine regularly. This can be done by using a professional frequency meter to ensure that the equipment is always in the best working condition.

Summary

The frequency adjustment of the ultrasonic welding machine is a job that requires carefulness and patience. With the above tips, you can effectively adjust the frequency of the equipment to ensure the welding quality and the normal operation of the equipment. Remember, correct frequency adjustment can not only improve production efficiency, but also extend the service life of the equipment.
