Ultrasonic Piezoelectric Ceramics Ring For Ultrasonic Cleaning Machines
Piezos are used in ultrasonic cleaning units, which use ultrasonic waves and a suitable cleaning solvent to clean objects. Ultrasonic cleaning is a fast and effective cleaning method that can clean all kinds of dirt, such as oil, grease, rust, fungi, bacteria, fingerprints, blood and other biological dirt. The technology penetrates cracks and cleans blind holes without disassembly.
How does this work?
One or more piezoelectric elements are attached to the outer surface of the container filled with water and generate ultrasonic waves in the bathtub. Ultrasound means that there is a large pressure difference in the liquid, which can cause cavitation. In other words, waves create millions of very small bubbles in the liquid. This agitation, along with the addition of solvent, removes dirt from the surface of the object being cleaned.
Which piezoelectric elements can be used for ultrasonic cleaning?
Ultrasonic cleaning devices consist of piezoelectric monolayer components of different shapes and sizes. Typically, for general purpose cleaning applications, ring elements of our NCE40 material can be used to provide continuous power over an operating frequency range of 20-50kHz. Precision cleaning systems, such as those used in the semiconductor industry, tend to use smaller components, thin discs or plates, and operate at higher frequencies.
